I have been making pictures all my life. Drawing at an early age was my voice to the world. In my early teens my father built a darkroom. I discovered how an empty white page can evolve into a beautiful image. I was hooked into the process, the impact of photography and how it can move the viewer emotionally. In time, I kept hearing “you have an eye” from my friends and instructors. So, I attended FIT in NY in the late 80′s and then Art Center College of Design in the early 90′s. I took a hiatus from photography and studied graphic design and advertising. I had a brief stint working in the design and creative fields, but felt more compelled to get back to what I loved the most – photography and film. I directed a few short films, tv commercials and music videos. I like to focus on capturing drama, concepts, and quiet landscapes. I especially like working with artists and actors who can create a feeling and a story within a gesture, an action or a look. I have been a commercial photographer and director for more than 15 years. I have traveled on assignment for Magazines, Ad Agencies, and Design Firms. I currently reside in a quaint little carriage house in the Hudson Valley.” —Tom Moore
